This is the beginning of an effort to record any teachings, or sermons, that come to my mind. The supporting verses will be from the New International Version bible, or NIV. I believe God has called me the do this while I am in waiting to become a youth pastor. I have a passion for teaching and am very excited to share my knowledge with the youth of today.

A Case for the Devil

When Christians hear about the Devil, there is a vast majority that believe he is symbolic. They say, “The battle is already won! Why should I worry about Satan?” In the current world, year 2022, the power of the devil seems to be at his strongest. He continues to do what he always has and attacks us at our most vulnerable, when we are young. The youth are very impressionable. They watch the world around them, and naturally, want to conform to it. We are all born sinners. The following verses are from John 3:3-4 NIV: “3Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

4“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely, they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”’

Jesus goes on to say, “No one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit” John 3:5 NIV. We will go more in depth about the three baptisms later, but the point is you must be born again to enter the kingdom of God, or heaven! Now do not get me wrong, Jesus loves the little children! See Luke 18:16 or, my favorite Matthew 18:2-6. I believe Matthew 18:6 warns us that the little ones, or children, can be caused to stumble. Let’s be clear, present day children are not being taught like the children Jesus was referring to. Codes of Jewish law says when a child begins to speak the father should begin teaching him Torah. Wow! So, these little ones were deeply immersed in the Torah, or the first five books of the bible. In 2022, we prefer a nice cell phone or some Disney cartoon. I believe our children are not taught as well as the Jewish children some 2,000 years ago. What does that mean? They are much more likely to stumble. Instant gratification, sensory overload, pornography, and lack of boredom has created the perfect avenue for the Devil to attack our youth. Here are some supporting verses that show you just how real the Devil is: 2 Corinthians 11:3, John 8:44, Matthew 16:23, and 1 Peter 5:8. Lastly Ephesians 6:11-12 says, “10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Please, make note of the bold letters. Brothers and sisters, the Devil is real he has power in the dark world and has spiritual power. In fact, 2 Corinthians 4:4 says Satan is the god of this world. Let that sink in, the Devil is a god, and his realm is this world. The bible says it! What can we do when we inhabit a world that has a god named Satan? Well, there is quite a few hopeful verses. Jesus says in John 10:10 the thief, meaning the Devil, has came to steal, kill, and destroy. He also says he came so you may have a life and that you may have it more abundantly! 1 John 4:4 says the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 means that, if you are born again, you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you, see Ephesians 1:13-14. When the forces of evil start waring against you in the spirit realm, activate the Holy Spirit 2 Corinthians 10:4! In closing, for the sake of our ourselves, our children, and every lost soul in the world we need to be praying on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request in the Spirit. Ephesians 6:18
